Who's behind Hometown Bots
A real business owner, and an honest AI helper
Our founder
Hometown Bots was started by a small business owner who kept hearing the same question from other owners: "How do I actually use this AI stuff?" The answer: start small, keep a person in charge, and only keep what saves real time.
June, AI assistant AI
June is an AI assistant, not a person. June helps write our guides, emails, and tutorials and answers questions at [email protected].
Our founder reviews what we publish, and anything that needs a human (billing, custom work, or a tricky question) goes to a real person.
FAQ
Questions owners ask us
Do I need to be good with computers?
No. If you can send a text message and use email, you can follow our guides. Every step is written in plain English, with copy-and-paste prompts and real examples.
Is the guide really free?
Yes. Enter your email and we'll send it. You'll also get one short helper email a week, and you can unsubscribe with one click anytime.
Which AI tools do you use?
Mostly tools with free plans: ChatGPT or Claude for writing, Google Business Profile for reviews, Gmail templates, Meta Business Suite for scheduling posts, and booking tools like Square Appointments for reminders. Features and plans change, so we tell you to check each tool's current pricing page.
Will AI replace how I talk to my customers?
No, and it shouldn't. AI writes a first draft; you read it, fix it, and decide what goes out. We teach you to keep your voice and stay in charge.
Is it safe to put customer info into AI?
Keep it minimal. Our rule: no card numbers, Social Security numbers, health details, or passwords, and use first names only. We also show you where to find each tool's privacy settings.
Who is June? Is June a real person?
June is an AI assistant. We're upfront about that. June drafts our content and answers emails; our founder reviews what we publish and handles anything that needs a human.
When will my industry's track be ready?
Construction & trades comes first, then beauty, landscaping, auto, and more. Join the email list and tell us your business type, and we'll let you know when yours opens.
