Turn One Finished Job into 5 Google Business Posts in 10 Minutes (Free ChatGPT Prompt)

You already did the hard part. One finished job can become a week of Google Business posts in about 10 minutes, with free ChatGPT doing the writing.

Google Business Profile posts are short updates that show on your listing. Most owners mean to post and never get around to it. This guide shows you how to turn one real job into five short posts you can paste over the next week. You still decide what goes live. ChatGPT just helps you say it clearly.

Never used AI before? That's fine. Every step is tiny.

Time: about 10 minutes the first time, under 5 minutes after that.

What you'll need

  • Notes about one finished job (what you fixed, the town, one nice detail)
  • A free ChatGPT account at chatgpt.com (we show you how below)
  • Your free Google Business Profile at business.google.com

Two words you'll see

AI chat: a website where you type a question and a computer program types back an answer.

Prompt: the message you type to the AI. You can copy ours and paste it in.

Step 1: Open ChatGPT

First time? Make a free ChatGPT account (you only do this once):

  • Open your web browser (Chrome, Safari or Edge). Click the address bar at the top, type chatgpt.com and press Enter.
  • Click Sign up. Use your email, or "Continue with Google" if you have Gmail.
  • If it asks you to pick a plan, pick the free one.

Backups: Gemini (free at gemini.google.com) and Claude (free at claude.ai) work with the same prompt.

Step 2: Paste this prompt

Click in the message box, copy this prompt, paste it in, and fill in the parts in [brackets]:

I run a small [type of business, like plumbing or roofing] business
in [your town or area]. I just finished this job: [what you did,
in plain words. Example: replaced a leaking water heater for a
homeowner in Oak Hill. Job took half a day.].

Write 5 short Google Business Profile posts I can publish over
the next week. Rules:
- Each post under 80 words
- Friendly and local, not salesy
- No made-up prices, reviews, or customer names
- Do NOT invent awards, years in business, or stats
- Mix them: 1 job highlight, 1 seasonal tip, 1 "how we work",
1 reminder to call for a similar job, 1 thank-you to the area
- End each post with a soft call to action (call, text, or book)
- Label them Post 1 through Post 5
Sign nothing. Plain words only.

Press Enter. Read the five posts.

Want them shorter? Type Make each post under 50 words and more casual. and press Enter.

Privacy check: don't paste the customer's full name, street address, or phone number. A first name and the town is plenty. Read what not to type into AI.

Step 3: Check them, then post one

  1. Read every post. You're the expert. Fix anything that isn't true or doesn't sound like you.
  2. Pick Post 1. Copy it.
  3. Go to business.google.com, sign in, open your profile, and create a new post (look for Posts or Add update).
  4. Paste the text. Add a real photo from that job if you have one (crop out house numbers and faces first).
  5. Publish. Save the other four posts in your Notes app and post one every day or two.

Example only (made-up business, made-up job):

Post 1: Just wrapped a water heater swap for a homeowner in Oak Hill. Half a day, clean install, and the hot water was back by dinner. If yours is leaking or taking forever to heat up, text Riverside Plumbing and we'll take a look.

Check before you post

  • Did you remove any customer name, address, or phone number?
  • Are the services and towns real for your business?
  • Does it sound like you, or like a robot? Tweak a word or two.
  • If you add a photo, crop out house numbers, faces, and paperwork.

Never do this

  • Don't invent reviews, prices, or "we're #1" claims. Stick to what really happened.
  • Don't paste private customer details into ChatGPT or into a public post.
  • Don't post the same text five days in a row without changing a word. Space them out and tweak if you like.

Make it even faster next time

Copy the prompt into the Notes app on your phone. After the next job, fill in the brackets while you're still in the truck, then paste into ChatGPT when you're home.

Common worries

"Do Google Business posts even matter?" They're free, they keep your listing looking active, and they're one more place a neighbor can see that you do real work nearby. You don't need a big following to start.

"What if ChatGPT makes something up?" It might. That's why you read every post before it goes live. Change or delete anything wrong. You're the expert.

Your next step

Pick the last job you finished. Run the prompt tonight and post the first one to your Google Business Profile.
